Glad you learned something. The OP was concerned because his truck was 24 pounds over its rated capacity. Twenty four pounds. In the engineering world, whether it’s structural engineering, mechanical, or aerospace, a margin of safety is always applied when designing a truck or an airplane or a space vehicle for unknown contingencies. I could go on, but you’ve learned enough for today. The engineers on the forum understand.
