DonandBonnie, So far we have had good luck with ours, no holes in the area that you spoke of. We have had them close to a year now. We are careful not to step on them and don't have them laid out where bikes or anything can roll over them. Not sure if dropping the pressure at the spigot makes any difference but seems to work for us. We do turn the water off when we leave the camp site, I think this is good practice though with any hose that you use. Camping World does have another similar to the ones that I have but I have no idea how good they are. Link to other hose is below. Tim
