if the cable is still there (not pulled through) this is a real easy fix. you tube it.
get a cable kit, crimping tool, I used Dremel to cut the cable. some spray adhesive.
takes about 20 minutes to do.

EVERY make will have issues, read any other forum and people will complain about there unit. no one comes to these forums to say I LOVE my unit. its just the nature of the beast.
we have 32,000 mile on ours and yes it has had some issues, but have yet to take it to a dealer.
