Was poking around and saw this old post. You do not need to winterize your ice maker. There should be a valve under the sink that sends water to the ice maker. Close that valve. Under the slide with the fridge there is a water line that goes to the fridge. It is a two piece hose with a connector in it. Unscrew the connector and water will drain from both sections. That's it. If you wanted to take it further, turn your fridge and ice maker on. After a while you might get one cube.
No need for the pink stuff, no need to keep throwing out ice till the pink ice is gone.
