Thanks to all. The toilet has been a sore spot for us. First it broke and had to have a repairman out to fix the improperly installed foot peddle and now it doesn't shut off hence the question about a new toilet. Such is the life of a new unit. There have been around a dozen little 'things' I've had to address, this being the worst (so far).
But home is where we park it...
