This comment peaked my interest.
We have had one diesel that required DEF, BUT it was never filled between visits to the dealer. The tank was big enough that it got filled with the oil was changed, so I never had to add DEF.
We are now going to get a new truck, and it will obviously require DEF, and I'm assuming that I'll need to put it myself at times.
Why don't you buy DEF at the pumps? Seems like an awfully convenient way to fill up, but again, I've never had to do it, so I don't know for sure...
