When we had portable dishes we just put them on one of the slides. Worked well for wind and you needed to bring your own ladder to steal them. IMHO you don't have to make your stuff theft proof you just have to make your's harder to steal than your neighbors. Folks who lost generators at Q can attest that bolt cutters are universally available, ladders not so much.
