I had a situation in which the caster wheels, which help the bed/storage box slide over the carpet, broke away, meaning the (now sideways) wheels and box were rubbing between the bed and the bedroom floor, causing the carpet to pull and the slide to misbehave. The wheels were held in place from the factory with a small screw..not strong enough to handle holding up a bed IMHO. After I reinforced the caster wheels (which required changing from a screw to a heavier bolt going through the underbed storage box wall) everything worked fine. You might want to look at that as well.
