Retired While Working

My wife Kathy and I purchased a 2009 3400RL in the fall of 2021. She found it on-line from a private seller. While I was at work, she took her sister with her to check it out. She liked it so much, she put down a deposit to hold it for a week. At that time, we did not have any vehicle capable of hauling it home. I was working 7 days a week at the time and searched on-line for used trucks. I found this one and decided to take the next day off to go check it out. We bought it that day, then stopped at a camping supply store to buy a new 5th wheel hitch head (The rails were still installed). Later that evening we bought the 5th wheel and towed it home the same day. WOW! The slight "bad" news was that the truck bed was not going to hold up much longer. (Bed cross members were almost rusted through.) SO, I replaced the whole bed with a southern truck bed (rust-free). I sprayed the entire underside and wheel wells with "Raptor Liner" truck bed coating in black, and the entire outer surface and bed with blue. The rest of the truck will rust before the bed ever does. I'm considering spraying the rest of the truck in the same blue, maybe next summer. We've taken one long road trip with it and love it. We have two trips planned for 2023 (so far) and will continue to do so as time allows. NOT waiting to retire before we begin.
