Opening the black tank is not so bad. Rinse real good with the trailer raised in a direction so as to drain the tank completely. Mine has to raise in the front and drains rearward. Then angle in the opposite direction to make any fluids go opposite the drain.

If you are using the cable style valve, prepare yourself mentally to do this procedure again.
