That's not a dumb question at all! Remember, I'm new to all of this electronic t-stat stuff. In my last rig, plugging it into 110 over rode the batteries. I thought that would be the same for this rig but with your question, it obviously is not! Today, I will go out to the RV barn and unplug the RV, check the battery switch to make sure the lights will come on, and then try the heater again. Never know...you could be on to something.
