You should at least be able to extend the bed slide, but if you can’t, it’s not the same as standing in a slide. There should be roller wheels underneath toward the foot of the bed that supports the weight there, and the head end of the bed should be supported on the sides. As far as not disconnecting the truck, if you can’t level the trailer, you risk damaging the fridge if it’s an RV type fridge, so that is critical that the rig be level when you’re not traveling. If you can get it level, side to side and front to rear, then you are good. Welcome to the forum.
