My ‘93 Alpenlite 29RK had an electric motor “rack and pinion” system for the slide. It was geared low and slow…it took a while to extend and retract - but it always worked. No idea if Keystone used this type system in older Montana units.

James the AZ RV Expert has a YouTube video where he replaces a rotten plywood floor of a bedroom slide on an older Montana (I don’t know the graphics well enough to identify the year or model). It was interesting to me to watch his process, and also to see the hydraulic ram that they used for the bedroom slide.
