In central Indiana it's been raining for days and days now. It's been a slow, constant steady misty sprinkle with an occasional actual rain. All this water is catching up with us at the house.

We live in the country. The closest "river" is more than 10 miles away. There are some creeks, mostly drainage from all the fields but nothing close to us. So, while some folks are still enjoying snow, this is what we are now enjoying!

I took this standing at my front door of the hosue just a few minutes ago:

The ground is so saturated with water right now, the water table is so high, that even this little guy can't live under ground any longer. He came up yesterday. I have never seen one of these where we live. Again, we are not anywhere close to a river, lake, stream, or pond (except for the pond in our front yard right now).

I guess he had to come up for air!
