Unfortunately, unless you pull the washer out and open it up, you'll never know for sure. It's possible it could be as simple as a loose connection, or it could be the pump itself leaking.

I know its a real challenge to pull these washers out and open them up to examine them, but I think you really need to do this before investing any money into something that might not be broken.

I would sooner think it's a connection that's leaking and simply needs tightening. You won't know for sure until you pull the washer.

Sorry, for my gloomy prognosis. I have a Splindide also and had my own share of problems with it. It's no fun for sure.
