Deparately needing help!
Friends are at Outdoor Adventure Campground in Grand Haven, MI. Yesterday, when they were moving to another site in the campground the shackle for the leaf spring ripped off of the frame. So they need a new shackle and portable welder if possible. This is a 2020 3790 RD. Keystone was of no help. Lippert was of no help because it's past warranty.
Does anyone from this area know of either a lowboy transport in the area to call to tow the RV or a mobile welder to repair? They have had this issue for two days now and have AAA RV Roadside and Good Sam. Neither has been of any help. They need to be off this campsite by tomorrow morning. If you have suggestions. please contact Sheri (517) 404-6516 or Rick Kroske (734) 476-4022 or kroskes@gmail.com ASAP.

Have you tried a google search for mobile welding in Grand Haven? I just did that and came up with two companies - Big B's Mobile Welding and Reliable Welding Services. Big Bs says they are available 24/7 - tel - 906-767-9030. In my opinion, all you need at this point is to get it welded to move it to a trailer shop.

All you need to do is get it welded and enjoy your trip. Any descent weld shop a fix this. It’s actually an easy job.
Calm down no need to worry or panic. That will not help you. The weld is broke just fix it.

Thanks. They have a place to take it to to do the welding, it’s getting it there that is the problem. The closest place is 40 mi away.

Thanks, BigBs has not returned several calls. So much for 24/7. I do appreciate you making an effort. This has been extremely stressful and the campground is trying to accommodate but they are full and need this rig moved.

I don't see where the leaf spring hanger ripped off.
We had a leaf spring break at the hanger. I shimmed it up with blocks of wood and we went down the road 120 miles to our next stop (carefully) where we could get it repaired.
Someone recently posted they did the same but they also added wratcheting tie down straps from the axle to the back frame to keep it parallel to the other axle.

I actually wouldn’t worry about driving it. I drove mine completely ripped off about 1100 miles not knowing it.

Found a mobile welder, temporarily all set but more work needs to be done. Thanks for all the responses and trying to help.

For example, we had a couple that pulled their jeep behind their Montana trailer. Unfortunately both of their rear shackles broke. We came in and custom designed and fabricated shackles stronger than the ones we’ve seen on semi trailers. The leaf springs will break before the shackles do. If anyone is looking to do this upgrade and avoid future problems (it seems this is a common issue unfortunately), we can pm for pricing that you could pass along if interested…

This is bad advice and the moderator should remove it. Another reason I don`t follow anyone towing anything. You just don`t know the competence level of the people in front of you.
