What year and model is your Montana. Every Montana model is different, and even the same model in the same year can have differences. More information is needed.
But, the CO detector will be located somewhere, and will be about 5 inches to 1 foot high from the floor on a wall or a cabinet. It will be wired directly into your battery and will not be turned off with your battery kill switch. It's one of those items in your camper will causes parasitic electrical draw off the battery, even when everything is turned off.
