ads on this website
Pardon me for venting, but are others bothered by so many ads popping up when trying to read any threads on these pages? There is an ad video between every reply to a thread and they take forever to load! I am about ready to give up reading the forum. Just too tedious. Puts me in a nasty mood. Yes, my computer running MS is a little old and slow and I do not have any ad blockers installed. Does anyone out there have an ad blocker app that works good and gets rid of these unwanted ads and videos.

First, keep in mind that ads pay for this site...so you don't have to
Second, I use Brave browser. It can prevent nagging popups. It still shows the imbedded ads and I do look at them and read some of them.

These adds pay for this very expensive website. We have a choice we can pay for this or let someone else pay for it. I’m a tight wad I’ll let someone else pay my part.

If you run Google Chrome, you can add extensions. We use these free ones:
- DuckDuckGo
- Privacy Badger
- Cookie autodelete
There are others as mentioned above and more. You can go to a website of a well known company like, PCMag, and search for their recommendations on extensions. Their articles will also show you how-to load the extensions if you are not familiar.
With an iPhone, it seems to block ads if you are logged into the MOC forum.

Hi,
owning and running an extensive forum myself with 53,000 members plus I know true cost of operation.
That forum is sponsored by member donation and a small google add at the bottom where it bothers no one.
Members who donate get an add free profile.
It's the 21st century and servers can get for reasonable cost, software licenses used here are not many and not "expensive" as suggested.
With the amount of pop ups and videos I have the strong impression this is targeted more towards RV LIFE as owner cooperation than covering "only" the cost.
As I am operating, as I said, a forum by myself I can only advise other forum operators to not over do it as it will drive the community eventually away.
You can see the growing community in the facebook groups for the Montana's already.
Just food of thoughts to the admins here to think about filling pockets and ruining the forum experience with useless adds.
Thanks,
Mike

I think if you're on your phone or a tablet, especially with Android or IOS, then the side banner ads can sometimes overlay onto the thread content. I've had that happen. And yes, it's irritating. It's never an issue on my home desktop Windows computer.

I am one also that uses Brave as my browser and DuckDuckGo.com as my search engine. No ads at all.
However, sometimes, because mine is set up to receive cookies but delete everything, including history upon exist, sometimes I have a clash (not with this site, but with others, like downloading something from my Email or logging into my bank account type stuff.)
When that happens, I switch over to Edge as it's logged in with Microsoft, YouTube, Facebook, all of those Mircrosoft stuff. BUT, when I use Edge for this forum site and other RV life forums, it's chocked full of ads.
Use a Brave and DuckDuckGo and you won't have those ads at all.

found a fix
Thanks to those of you who replied to this thread which I started. I think I just solved my problem of to many ad popups. I simply switched my default browzer from MS Edge back to the old MS Bing and it seems to work fine now!!!!!!
