Joslyn Castle Tour
In 1903 George and Sarah Joslyn completed one of Nebraska's greatest houses-- a 35 room Scottish Baronial Mansion atop a hill in Omaha's outskirts. The cost to built such a house in those days was $250,000. Todays cost would be approximately $9 million. The house and the carriage house are built of Kansas silverdale limestone. With the addition of the music room in 1907 the house totals 19,360 square feet. The estate consists of 5.5 acres and is on the Omaha Landmark Historical Structure List and on the National Register of Historical Places.
We will be touring Joslyn Castle on Wednesday before going to Leach Camper for lunch. We need to know who will be going on this tour so we can purchase tickets ahead of time. The Castle is handicap accessible also. We must know who will be taking the tour by July 8th. The ticket price is $15 per person.
