Amarillo to West Yellowstone

Hi Peeps!!
Been a little while since I have been on here, but I do lurk every now and then. I want to, first, take this chance to give some thanks to all of you that suggested Coach Specialists in Mansfield, Texas. Took us almost a year to get a spot and to save up enough Gate Guarding oil well sites and putting away funds to take off the anticipated 4-8 weeks of repair, after I joined the Tail Swing Club back in May of 2023. CS got us in on May 10th of this year and had it done in 5 weeks. All repaired now and on to our next Work Kamping gig in West Yellowstone, MT.
Got the Montana out last Monday and headed to Amarillo to complete the first leg of this journey. 10 miles outside the KOA here, and my right front tire blew out, 11pm, no less. Got the spare on but we will need 6 new tires now. They are 5 years old and I guess the Good Lord was telling me, "WHOAAA Nellie!! You're gonna need new shoes before making this trek...", so, that's what we are doing this week. Gonna try Yokohama 720R this time and see how they fare.

I am a pretty good planner for trips but have never been any westward as Limon, Co, which is out next leg. Leg after that carries me to Rawlins, WY. Here is where it gets iffy for me....

After Rawlins, WY, there are a couple of ways to get to West YS.....Initially, I have planed from Limon, CO to Rawlins, WY to Dubois, WY, for the last Campground stop before hitting West YS, MT.

I see on Google maps and Trip Planner of another route, about 100 miles longer, not that it matters, to ease on down I-80 from Rawlins to US-191 and head north. Have any of yall traveled these routes?? Any one better than the other? Best one to take? Have not yet, looked thoroughly, at US-191 Stay options yet, and I am sure there are some, but which is better to take up that way??

Thanks so much for any and all replies.
AC

Enjoy your trip. We were in West Yellowstone last year at about the same time. We chose a bit longer route that kept us on the interstate. My concern was “lack of services” if we need anything or had any type of emergency. We followed 80 to 84 and then 15 and went up through Ogden. It added about 100 miles but only about an hour in travel time as we were on interstate most of the way.

If you are interested in WW2 military stuff, take the Dubois route. A rich medical CEO moved there and started a Museum. He has every US vehicle type used in WW II. Seniors reduced rate and ex-military free, I believe. Has a 1.2 to 1.5 guided tour also.
The Longhorn RV place is very nice along a river just outside town.
The road that way is not very taxing on the driver, but interesting. I saw a couple of buffalo in a field along the route from there to Yellowstone.

Thank you guys!! I decided to do the I-80/I-84 >> I-15 to US 20 route. Looks good to me now. I'll update from the road.

Last year we planned a trip up US-191 from Moab Utah to the Tetons. The road looks good all the way.
Break downs occurred and we we had to cut off part of our trip. We did take US-191 up into the tetons and up into YS. Good road. Beautiful drive.
Lots of animals.

Best advice about West Yellowstone: Do not go to the rodeo. It is a waste of time. A tourist trap. The same 6 people ride in every event. There is even one young girl on a plow horse that walks the barrel racing. A good example is that there is no standby ambulance because there no chance of getting hurt. And it is expensive. Sounded like a great evening as we grew up rodeoing. Don’t waste your money.
