Can you identify this?

My buddy and I have nearly identical RAM trucks...2014 and 2015 diesel Laramie. His has this box of fuses behind the driver's side battery. Mine doesn't. Anyone know what it is?

Thanks

Until a ram owner comes along that knows for sure, I’d say it’s the power distribution box for the auxiliary power switches and pto. Looks very similar, although located in a different spot, as the ones on my Fords.

Good morning -

I have a 2016 Dodge Ram and I have fuse boxes inside and out. Those are fuses for the truck and if you flip over the lid, the schematic for those fuses should be listed there and identify which goes to what electric service!

It can be tricky, for example, my Brother-in-Law was working on a 2019 Dodge the other day and found a turn signal fuse in that box... Seemed to him to be an odd location, but he replaced the fuse and the problem was solved.

Cheers

Thanks for the replies. Turns out my buddies truck does have upfitter AUX switches. Now we just need to figure out what they control or how to program them.

By default, they probably don't control anything. They are used to add optional equipment to your truck and control the equipment through these built-in switches. You can add aux lights, an air compressor, power outlets in the bed, etc. and turn them on/off using the upfitter switch.

I agree with what Robert said above. Mine has a color coded wire bundle beneath it that has individual wires in it that are tied to the individual switches in the cab. There are also wires up under the dash for anything that you may want to power inside the truck. When installing an accessory, the positive wire gets wired to one off the wires in the bundle and then the accessory is switchable. I have one of my aux switches hooked to the relay that controls power to my DC/DC cables that run to the back of my truck. It’s outlined in the owners manuals and plenty on you tube.
