Replacing the CO2 sensor

How do I disconnect the power supply from the sensor so I can replace it?

Should be on its own 3 amp fuse. Or just remove bell caps or wire nuts 1 at a time. It is not a CO2 detector. It is a CO detector. Big difference. Humans exhale carbon dioxide when we breathe. CO is Carbon Monoxide. Deadly. One cause is incomplete combustion of fuels. Odorless and colorless and deadly.

All of our fuses are 15amp. I am not keen on disconnecting live wires. Oh and the actual name on the Safe-T-Alert is RV Carbon Monoxide/Propane Gas Alarm. Thank you for your response

I can’t remember if the alarm is 12 volt or 110 volt. If it’s 12 volt it won’t hurt you unless you touch the two bare wires together. If it’s 110 volt you can just disconnect your rig from whatever 110 volt source you are using I.e. pedestal or battery. As an aside, using the battery disconnect switch will not shut the 12 volt power off to the alarm, as it is wired to bypass that switch.

It is a 12V device and it has an inline fuse direct from the battery. It does not go through the fuse panel. And the convenience center red disconnect A 2019 won't have a Giggy box) does not affect the power supply.

As stated, it's 12 volt DC. Touching the bare wires, one at a time, is no different than touching a battery terminal with your finger. Nothing happens.

You can disconnect the wires by simply cutting them and splicing in the new detector. I did mine about a year ago and simply did one wire at a time. Cut one, remove the plastic coating, and attach it to the new detector. Then did the second wire the same way. No issues at all.
