swintec vs accuslide is one better than the other

Just want opinions on which slide system is the most trouble free I hear both can be good or bad. Montana now has the cable slide for slides that are not on the main floor like in the bedroom, where they had swintec in the past, Did they change them for dependabilty or cost?

IT is hard to say what Montana's motivation was for the change. Probbaly cost is my guess.

I hear far more horror stories about Schwintek slides than the cables one. The cable slides are easier to repair yourself when the cable breaks or the fitting comes off the wall. The Schwintek slides are much more difficult to fix (i.e. a dealer or repair company is going to be involved in the repair

According to my dealer they have abandoned Schwinn Tech and gone to the new style cable system. It's supposed to be more dependable. I'm told that the problem is when it fails they have to disassemble the slide to get to the components whereas the alternative was more accessible. Too many failures with schwintech. Sorry about the misspelling but I'm using voice text

yep I have heard the samething, BAL cliams the new cable slide is mounted like in the swintec sytem so supposeldy you can change if needed. I also understand they went to cables so the slide floor is now level with the main floor for a flush fit.
