Battery charging

Installed new 29DC battery. Showed 3 lights on the control panel after installing. It doesn’t seem to want to top itself off with the 5er Plugged into shore power 24/7. Unplugged yesterday to mow, and before replugging (2 hrs, later) control panel only had one light. How do I check to see if my battery is getting a charging current while hooked up. I do have a volt meter but I’m sure it’s going to take a u-tube video to use it. Not totally electrical illiterate but close. Any tips would help.

A couple of things to look at first. Make sure your battery disconnect is not in the disconnect position. Make sure your breakers and fuses are all good at your converter. With the RV plugged into shore power, just put you meter leads on the battery posts + to +/- to -. You should read approx. 13.5 volts. If not, you may have a bad converter.

Like Jerry said, make sure the disconnect in the convenience center is on ( you can't pull out the key). On mine, the battery doesn't charge when turned off.
