City Water Connection
On my last trip my city water connection failed. Most of the water went out the bottom of the convenience center, but some got into the front storage area. I found that the female threads on the all-plastic fitting would not hold the male hose connection in place (yes, pressure regulator was used).
I found brass connectors and replaced all of them; much better product.

Yup a good thing to either change out or, like we do, use a quick connector and only screw it in once in the life of the rig.

Ditto
I am also in the process of making our black tank wash lines (I use a dedicated hose for that) quick connect. I really like that it is easier to screw in the quick connect rather than holding the hose while I screw it into the hose bib......
Although I am always more in favor of robust metal fittings vs plastic screw fittings........

Same issue with my tank wash. Dealer says they can't duplicate it. It has done it since the 1st time I connected it.

Thanks for this post on the city water connection with brass instead of plastic. Mine is starting to fail, so now I know what to buy without doing a lot of research.

Please share what you used for quick connect setup. I’m considering getting quick connects for as many of the fresh water supply connections as possible.

scottz, thanks for sharing. Now I also know what to buy if the water hose connection(s) fail.
I also use a Camco 90 Degree brass hose elbow fitting to eliminates stress / strain on the RV water intake hose fittings followed by a brass quick disconnect fitting that you can purchase at most hardware stores or online. The quick disconnect fitting ensures we do not risk damaging the RV connection since it is permanently installed to the elbow, is leak-free fit up and is quick to set up and tear down.
