Going full time
We will be leaving our beloved country estate in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas and headed to Carlsbad, NM Desert next Friday! Its going to be full time for us at an Escapees park at least for a while. Duty calls in the oilfields (at least till I retire).

Beloved country estate. I can relate to that. I’ve lived on the same 25 acre farm for all of my life. When I was a kid I remember looking through out board fence around our yard across the hay field and knew I wonted my house on a little rise on the back of our farm. I made one change, I put my home in the woods in place of the hay field. I had to build it myself and there are mistakes but most people couldn’t find them. It’s my little bit of heaven on earth.
Some day you will get back home until then enjoy full timeing.

We Went Fulltime - Aug 2017
We went Fulltime back in August 2017 and have never looked back. We sold our ranch in the Texas Hill Country; right on the Blanco River. Sold all the cattle and all our worldly possessions (with a few exceptions in storage). While we know we will one day need to get off the road we are going to enjoy this great country and see everything we can see while we can. I'm 81 and DW does most, if not all, of the driving.
I fought a war for this freedom/country and I am going to enjoy them now. I also lost great friends in the war and I am going to toast to them in as many places as I can.

That decision took some courage from you guys. Good for the both of you.
I hope you guys get to see the US from one end to other several times!
And thank you for your service to our country.

Awheeler, I retired in 2006 and got the Monty then. Our goal was to see every national park in the country. We completed that in 2016. We had a few years with no/little travel, so if you fulltime, you should be able to see them all in 3-4 years. I love the mountains and countryside - not so much the cities. We live in a great country!!!!

We finally sold our house after living about 9 months each year. So far we haven't missed the house but I do miss my shop.

The nice thing about full time is you can change locations and neighbors as much as you want. Enjoy the experience and safe travels

A little different for us. I am stuck here due to work. Oddly we planned on going full time when we retired or at least most of the time or as they say long time/extended time. Now that it is forced it doesn't have the appeal that it once had.......

As much as my wife and I love to travel and camp in our RV's, living full time in one has never been appealing to either of us. Too many other loves and hobbies.
We do plan to downsize and travel more when retirement comes but we
both are 100% in agreement we always want a home/garage full of our stuff to come back to.
I think its great for those who do make that choice and love it though.

Congrats on becoming "full time". When we tell people that we RV full time there are two typical responses: either they say "I would love to do that" or "you are so brave". For those that understand, no explanation is necessary. For those who don't understand, no explanation is possible.

We have camped beside many "full timers" over the years. More and more the last few years. It seems to be a quickly growing number. I think its wonderful for those who love the lifestyle.

Wife and I sold our home in the hill country in central Texas 8 years ago and have never looked back. We now live in 3 different 5ers, two semi permanent and the third we travel the US in. We also spend 4-5 months a year in a long term rental casita in the mountains of central Mexico. No rving down here! We will be replacing our DRV in central Texas this spring

Welcome to Full Timing. We have been on the 8 years. We like the park you going to. We saw more Roadrunners there than any place we have been. Enjoy!

We went full time in July 2018 and don't plan on looking back. Not being tied to a house that was seldom used is a great feeling.
