Wow! Good question. I don't think there's an easy answer. I think the pressure available to "play" with is pretty slim unless you're running at full city pressure. Given that, I think your best bet may be to wander the plumbing aisles at Lowe's or the Depot sor someplace like that and see what you can find. I'd take the existing hose and shower head with you and hopefully you'll find a really helpful and knowledgeable salesperson who'll do his/her best to solve the challenge.
