AC Duct Blows
We are full-timers in a 2019 3721 RL. Recently I have noticed that every time the AC kicks on, there are flakes, dark in color, that emit from the air ducts. They fall onto the floor, the bed, and the counters. It makes quite a mess and I am constantly sweeping. We clean our air filters monthly. And we can’t seem to figure out how to remove the air duct covers to look inside there. Has anyone else had this issue?

And you might find sawdust falling out as well. The vent covers come off if you pry near the three indents on the cover. I use a small screwdriver, some can do it with their fingers.

Thank you for your reply. Have you ever tried to clean the ducts?

Look up borescopes, can hook to your phone and the scope can be pushed thru the duct to see the source on stuff flying out

I, like many, have found that the a.c. vent assemblies extended too far into the duct and also weren't sealed very well to the duct. About half of mine allowed cool air to escape into the attic area instead of out the vent. I cut down the part of the vent that is screwed to the ceiling, re-taped all, and ran a vacuum hose into each vent with the ac running.

Going back to the saw dust, That was one of the items on our pre delivery list. If you take those covers off on the roof the unit you will see its full of saw dust. We had the guys suck all of that out with the shop vac.

My brother told me the same issue with the vent ducts. I am currently waiting for our 3120 legacy to be built. That will be one item I look at at the dealership when I go to get it.

3rd ac
I will install one on my own one day if I need it. The unit is costly enough for now. At this point I wont be going out to too hot of an area during the high temp times. That does sound like a good idea though of having a 3rd ac at some point.

If I was having one built I would have ALL A/C units deleted and install a mini split unit myself.

I considered that. I installed one in my garage. I don't want to have a condenser mounted on the unit at this point. I might in the future, just not yet.

Are the black flecks plastic? It might be polyethylene bits from where they cut holes in the ducts at the factory. Try burning them and see if they melt or produce black smoke.

We are in Southern AZ and have seen no need for a 3rd ac. We get hot but stay fairly dry - ac has a tougher time in humidity.
