Made the upgrade
Tow vehicle:
Started with a 2017 Ram 2500 Cummins. Which had a GAWR Rear of 6500 Lbs.
Well, My truck coming home from an AZ run on the CAT Scale had a rear axle weight of 7000 lbs. So I started removing weight in front of the axles and added a cargo carrier to the rear hitch of the Montana. Helped but did not solve the issue.
Moved to a 3500 dually, solved the issue and provided extra towing ability. The added benefit was a much nicer new truck for my future full time RVing adventures.

Congrats! You'll not regret getting the 3500 and the fat hip! You'll never have issues again towing (almost) anything! And mountains will be a non-issues. Use Tow Mode and if you have it, exhaust brake. Flip on cruise control and you're in a very enjoyable ride!

Congrats on the new truck.
We named our dually Gloria after the hippo in Madagascar. Cause she’s “hefty” .
