Window Film?

Hello all, I am working on setting up our new 5er for winter. A quick question for the been-there done-that crowd.

Is inside or outside window film better? In all of my ignorance on the subject, I was thinking inside would be better. Because it would provide a bigger dead air space between the glass and the film, also allowing for any condensation build up to drain out when thawed. We dont have thermal windows.

Thank you!

Mike
