Static electricity

I get shocked a lot from static electricity.I am afraid to touch any metal in my unit.I'm wondering if I put a metal spike into the ground and a wire strap from the frame to the spike if I would be able to stop the shocks.I do have have a ground through the elect.system, but not all the metal in this thing is grounded.
