Turning off the Inverter
We have a 2019 3791 RD. Just started our 1st winter in Florida.
My questions is does the Inverter remain on when you are on shore power for an extended period or does it charge the batteries.
Thanks

The convertor charges the battery's and your 12 volts system runs off them. so yes leave it on. If your are talking about the invertor for the refrigerator then some one else will have to chime in as we have an norcold. We full time for 5 years and the convertor runs 24/7.
And also welcome to the forum.

The inverter probably goes into standby while connected to shore power.

This is SUPPOSED to be the case but I don't trust it. I turn the inverter off while on shore power. BTW I see Soddy Daisy on your profile. Did you buy from Billy?

My 3790RD has a RV refer, but I had the 2000W inverter/solar option. The inverter has a power switch to turn it on and off. There is also a 20A automatic transfer switch.

We have the same Model and will be turning off the inverter when we are a a campground for sometime. Can't see leaving it powered up if it's needed. It would be easy to turn it back on if it's needed. Saying all that, I don't see where it would harm anything to leave it on if you prefer.

We have the res refer. If you leave it on and power goes out, refer stays on.
If you disconnect that will be something to remember to turn on when leaving.
While hooked up and just sitting there the power draw will be minimal and the converter with cover it.

I have a 2019 Montana high Country. You should use the inverter while hooked up to tow vehicle, and turned off while on shore power always make sure the key located in the convenance center is in the on position I learned the hard way and drained my batteries. In the off position your batteries want charge while hooked to shore power.

I have a 2019 Montana with the solar kit and the 2K inverter, the transfer switch puts the inverter in bypass but I am like the rest of the people I don't trust the transfer switch but it works. I picked up a remote on and off button for the inverter and mounted it inside the trailer so I can turn it on and off when as needed. When off the grid I do run my power cord to the inverter to the trailer plug in so I can use the stuff that is not hooked up to the inverter like the recliners for an example and that at night I use the remote button to turn the inverter off not to run down the batteries but with lithium batteries i don't worry about it if I forget to turn it off.

On my 2019 3731, the refer never stayed on unless on shore power. After losing 2 trips of food, several calls to Keystone, the inverter maker and 2 trips back to the dealer, (plus the inverter is mounted upside down and sideways , so reading the display is almost impossible) someone finally took me serious and located a disconnected/loose wire associated with the inverter or refer. Never got a answer as to what wire, but there you go. I hate to complain about this unit but it is by far been the worst experience I've ever had in buying anything.

We have a 2016 3791. I was told by the dealership after we have gone thru 2 of them in 2 years that when you’re on regular power to cut it off. Haven’t had any issues since then.

My dealers service tech told me to leave it on. The by pass will take care when on shore power. I have had my GFI kick off once.
