I was talking about the route to Zion. We took the route above ( in blue) as outlined and we were OK. Where are you staying in Monument Valley? We stayed at the KOA when it was brand new and would not recommend it.

The 89/160 route from Monument Valley to Flagstaff was fine 2 years ago. I doubt it has changed since.

The only comment I have is on route 89. It has closed twice in the last 2 or 3 years for a few days/weeks because of mud slides, etc. One time it was detoured for many weeks. Recently for 3 or 4 days. Check internet for latest info.

Art,
I can offer the following suggestions.
For Bryce and Zions National Park I would suggest you stay at Ruby's Inn RV Park. Its a nice RV park with full hook-ups, showers, and laundry, a decent restaurant and nice general store.
1 day - Bryce National Park, a leisurely drive or you can take the free shuttle you can walk to from your RV.
1 day - Zion National Park. This drive will take you through the east entrance which goes through the tunnels, a cool drive. You can see the whole park in a single day unless you want to do some of the longer hikes then you may want a second day.
Bonus 1 day - From Ruby's Inn take Hwy 12 Scenic Byway through the towns of Escalante and Boulder. Follow this road to Torrey adjacent to Capitol Reef National Park. Along this route you can stop at Mossy Cave, a short 1/2 mile hike, and Anasazi State Park in Boulder.
For Arches and Canyonlands National Parks for hook-ups you will need to stay in Moab at an RV park.
1 day - Arches National Park
1 day - Dead Horse Point State Park and Canyonlands Island in the Sky National Park.
1 day - Canyonlands Needles district.
Bonus 1 day - Natural Bridges National Monument. From here you can take Hwy 261 that will take you down the Moki Dugway a steep but cool drive. You can include the Valley of the Gods drive and/or drive over to Goose Necks state park.
If you are not in a hurry there is plenty to do and see at both these 'base camps'.
Have fun and enjoy.

In the Parks of Utah, it's usually only partial hookups. Electric only. No sewer and no water. You'll typically need to be outside the park in a commercial park for full hookups

Dave, Gouldings is a really nice campground. Stayed there 4 years ago. You are pretty much in Monument Valley at the campground. Plan on a couple of days at least to take it all in. Be sure to take the guided ride on to the reservation as that will be the only way to see all the hidden beauty that is there. John Ford and John Wayne spent much time there.
ENJOY

We are actually doing this leaving tomorrow morning. Here's what we have planned:
We are going to spend the first couple of days seeing Zion (staying at Zion River Resort in Virgin, UT).
We are then heading to Page Arizona (via Highways 389 and 89A) we are staying at Wahweap RV campground.
Then we are heading to Monument Valley (also staying at Gouldings).
After a couple days there we are heading to Moab for a couple days. (staying at Portal Rv Resort.

Stayed at Portal last June. It is about 1 mile to Arches entrance and a short ride into Moab. The park was completing new facilities at the front gate, such as a new Laundry and swim pool. Several kids and people enjoyed playing in an old swim hole in the park. Portal was very adequate for large 5th wheels.

Crap!!! We have to put our trip on hold. Wife is supposed to get allergy shots and can't miss any. Has to be on them for a year. This sucks because these aren't cheap ether and my insurance may deny the coverage. Looks like we won't be able to travel this year. I will keep this thread for future information.

It will be a shame to be that close and miss Bryce. If time allows try and work it in.

We will be doing this In early April. South Rim, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Moab etc. With 37 ft Monty, will we need to reserve campgrounds more than a few days ahead?
Like to have an adventure, but also not to be stranded😂

I hate to bear bad news, but if you are talking about staying inside the National Parks, you probably should have made reservations 6 months ago. Commercial campgrounds might be a safer bet. More expensive, but more available.

Thanks, all the parks that we have looked at are the Commercial ones. Trailer Village (south rim), Zion River Resort, Ruby’s, Wonderland (Torrey) etc. I think we will start hitting them around April 1 with 3 or 4 days at each. I can go ahead and try to start making reservations now if necessary.
