Coeur D' Alene area
Can anyone recommend a campground in Coeur d'alene, IDAHO that accommodates a 35Ft Monty?

I can not recommend a camp ground but I can recommend one not to use. We stayed at Riverwalk Campground over the 4th of July and had a bad experience. The people are nice but the campground is very tight. We had to wait for others to leave before we could get our Travel Trailer out. We have a 31RLD which is listed as being 35 feet long. We explained this to the person on the phone when we made the reservations. When we got there the camp host said I should have told them I had a Hensley Hitch as that added another foot to the trailer which made it more difficult to park. We got in and out but it was very difficult. I wish I could tell you about a good camp ground but I cannot. Enjoy the area as there are several things to do there. We enjoyed the cruise on the lake and sight seeing.

Try Blackwell Island. It is in CdA, ID just off US 95 just south of the Spokane River. Stayed there last year with our 39' 3650RK. It is a Good Sam park. I think we paid about $30 a day.
When are you coming? Sunday, we'll be up to Farragut St Park for one day. They are packed, couldn't get anymore days.
Enjoy your stay in CdA. If I can help anymore PM me.

We stayed at Wolf Lodge campground last year. Nothing special but nice people, great scenery, it is Passport America so we got the first 2 or 3 days at 50%. We have a 3400 so we are at 39+' with 4 slides and we made it okay. Some of the sites are pull thru so it wasn't so hard to get in. It is an older campground. We enjoyed it.
Happy trails........................

Blackwell Island has a lot of big trailers and Wolfe Lodge also would work for a big trailer. There is also a park in Post Falls that will work for you too. I can't remember the name of it but it is between the first two exits to Post Falls on the north side of the freeway. It's close to lots of resturants and Wally World is just down the street.

We stayed at Blackwell and they have a deal with the Resort if you're golfers. It's a wonderful experience, pricey, but Blackwell saves you about $200 per couple for a round.

Gojodo,
We stayed a very nice large park at Post Falls, ID which is just north of Coeur d'alene. We would stay there again. I seem to remember that most sites were pull-thrus. It has been about 3 or 4 years since we were there so things might have changed.

We stayed at Blackwell and there sites will handle just about anything. A nice river is right on the edge of the RV park.

John and Dorothy,
Sounds like your taking the same trip as we are! Were pulling out a week from today out of Denver. We'll probably go as far as Spokane WA. Are you on the road or still planning?

Bigmurf,
Why should one NOT stay at Suntree RV park? Just curious as to what negative experience or information caused you to give such a recommendation. Thanks.

Don't know how to post a photo (dummy). Park had many POS trailers on the back two rows. One front row had some shade and better rigs. If you are in the area you should drive thru the park. Be sure to have a camera because no one will believe you.

Don and Annie,
No place particular, just sightseeing trip in a cooler climate as an alternative to earlier plans going Southwest.
We are heading up through Spokane on 90 from Montana (thought we'd find that mountain pictured on the front of our Montana ), then down to 84 for the trip home. Any input you have for places to stay or sights to see would be appreciated. Never been up that way before.

Brad, you asked if we were just leaving, no. We left Richmond, VA in May and have been traveling across country. We spend June in the four corners area, Pagosa, Mesa Verde, Canyon de Chilly, Goosenecks of the San Juan, then to Lake Powell, Grand Canyon, Zion, Salt Lake. We are now is Missoula, MT - one of the greatest little towns around. We are heading up to Glacier, then probably on up to Calgary and back down to Idaho. If we can offer any advice let us know. John

There is another park in Post Falls: Couer D'Alene RV Park. We had a friend tell us it was a nice park, but we have not actually been there. We have a membership park in the area that we stay at.
Safe travels
