a/c problem heads up montana owners
we have a 2011 montana high country 323 brought home tonite and plugged
in to get ready to leave friday for colorado. turned on a/c not working got a e2 code. called deans rv and talked to a technician and he said to unplug battery and let set 15 minutes and reset. DID NOT WORK so i called back and they were gone but another person helped and he said that the dometic wall themostats have a problem with high temps in the 5ver and the unit goes into fault mode. they suggested removing the thermostat and letting it cool or put some ice around it or a cold pack. did that for 3 minuts and reinstalled thermostat instant a/c. dometic knows its a problem but doenst have a fix yet.. so if you have problems with e3 code and it just came from storage then it is prpbaly to hot to let the unit come on.. hopefully this will help others.

Good tip. I've never heard of such a thing and have had no problem with mine.
Happy trails on your voyage to Colorado. The weather is GREAT here!

i guess the technician said when the inside temp of the coach goes over 100degrees or more then the sensor goes to fault mode.so we
just had to cool down the senor so it would come on, i guess it must be some safty feature.

Let me get this straight...
If you get the E3 fault and the unit is hot, you must cool the thermostat... so the A/C will cool the inside???? But you can't cool the inside because the thermostat won't work. Kind of a chicken and egg thing, huh!!!

Time to open the windows at Dometic and let some AIR in or maybe some common sense! Do these guys have any US engineers working for them or is this stuff designed in C---a, or I---a??
