Found a product at the Dollar store called "Awesome". Spray it on and wipe it off. No streaks.

Stiles, that Awesome product is a great cleaner but it will also take off the wax.

I got the clip on gutter extensions, most RV places have them for qbout 7 bucks a set, they work great, I cleaned the streakes, put those on, now, no more streaks.

This is probably a really dumb question but what causes the black streaks? Since we've not taken our camper out, only driven it home from the dealers, we don't have any streaks yet. The streaks on the carpet from the slides I understand but I've never noticed a camper coming down the road with black streaks!!!

We use a product called 4U which is environmentally friendly. It can be mixed in different strengths and used to clean almost anything. It only takes a light solution sprayed on and wiped off to clean the black streaks, moldings and I've even used it on clothes, like a Spray n Wash. You can get it at lots of RV stores, maybe even Camping World. A little goes a long way.

It is my understanding that the black streaks are caused by oxidation of the roof material which drains down the sides. For sure, I have not had any black marks in the three years we have had our Montana and I attribute that to the fact that I regularly clean the roof with "Thetford Rubber Roof Cleaner and Conditioner".

David, I plan to crawl up on the roof of our Montana Monday morning before the day gets hot and attack the oxidation/chalking there. Hopefully, that will reduce the rapid reappearance of black streaks.

Thanks, Padredw, for answering my question. I was thinking that it was probably from the exhaust from all the trucks on road. We'll sure be paying attention to keeping the roof clean.
