Hmm! Another thread gave me an idea.

If you changed out your refrigerator door with the louvered tailgate, you would be able to see easily if the light were on or off when you close the refrigerator door.

Of course, placing the refrigerator door on the TV as a tailgate would get you back to the proper design of your TV

With all this interest in Louvered Tailgates maybe it should have its own Category with topics under it. Example would be Louvered Tail Gate Topic Category and topic headings of Gas Mileage, Performance, Accessories, Colors, Alternate Uses, lets see, what our topics can we add?

Don't forget Carol's diamonds, rubies and even pearls. Geeesh, haven't we learned from 34 pages (congrats Jim, top o the page post!!)??? As Robbie suggested, this thread kinda reminds me of a discussion I was part of at one time on louvers!!!!!!!!

I have an ole leaky memory, but it seems to me (having been around here longer than my member number shows, cause for quite a while before that I posted under Al's name: CountryGuy) welllllll, it seems that the longest thread was like 38 pages long.

So, we got just a few more pages to go, if my memory is correct.

Now, I am sure that other long time MOCers will come along and correct me on that!

That is definitely off-topic (at least it is in my personal opinion, therefore I think that I can say that it is off-topic), but it should be good for a few more pages!!! I louve this forum!!!!! There, now we are back on topic.

In my opinion the Texas law should be worded to reflect the advantages of running a Louvered Tailgate. This would of course be covered under the CDL rules.

Bigmurf, Are you considering that Texas should take the weight transfer benefits of upward facing louvers that was discussed around page 28 or was it 29 or 30, I lost track, in terms of the discussion thread on "weight training" for state troopers. Come to think about it, maybe Arnold S. would like the idea of "weight training" for CHP. Sorry Robbie for digressing off topic.

Tonight I find myself concerned about another thread that has surfaced. It seems to be questioning the validity, yea even the sanity of this thread..........

We should all be aware and cautious. It could be just a cheap shot at trying to start something as magniloquent as this project in page count and content?

Heck I am still trying to figure out what a "stair" post is. See Jim's post on the new louvered tailgate thread. Help Jim!!! Whoops, is this on topic?? And for all those who are peeking in on this thread as a result of some other louvered tailgate wannabe thread, yes I am stickbound, yes I really need to go camping, yes the Montana is in winter storage, and yes I louve this thread and I apologize for all of us for having a little fun at the expense of a vast amount of artificially extended thread cyberspace memory !!! C'mon Spring!!

My reaction to the other, wannabee thread was,

John (OntMont), has a very dry sense of humor, so I was not sure without seeing him face to face if he was pulling our leg or not, I truly suspect he is.

Next reaction was, come on people, we were having a little fun, lighten up.

So, for now, I will go with: every comment over on the wannabee thread is on our side, just some of em don't know how to use smilie faces, so we cannot tell they are serious about us getting a life, too much time on our hands, artificially extending the pages on a thread, and needing to have the MOC be serious ALL the time.

And, in closing, wasn't it Madonna who said:

DIAMONDS ARE A GIRLS BEST FRIENDS!

OK, I took a peek, have fun with it guys! I was off the forum for a while and I just could not understand how that topic could produce 35 pages of discussion. I was just to lazy to wade through it all. I guess it lightens up the winter doldrums a bit.

Inquiring minds simply have to know if you took a shortcut to page 35 or actually read the entire thread hoping to glean the cream of the fantastic amalgamation of louvered tailgate information John.........and thanks for getting us to page 36!!

No, I didn't read it all, but I think I better go post something on the Remote Thermostat thread, maybe something about it not operating louvered tailgates properly. (You have to have had a Remote Thermostat to appreciate that).

It took thirty six pages to find out if the louvered tailgate really works and if they are worth the money-- and guess what????-- I still don't know for sure and will probably never know unless I go to another thread and check it out!

Okay now! Let's stay on-topic. Girls best friend is not on topic unles it mentions louvered tailgates. I will get a picture of a diamond studded louvered tailget for Carol to wrap around her finger. (Will that push Carol's DH out of the way?)

Snow tomorrow and temps in the single digits here for the next few days - that oughta be worth at least a couple of more pages.

Which brings up automatic or assisted lift tailgates for those that have difficulty closing the gate. Aluminum would have it's advantages for these folks, but would a chromed steel diamond studded variable pitch louvered tailgate be better served with gas charged lift arms
