Yikes! (It) happened again! Didn't look at the original post date.

Oh well, maybe all our ranting will still help someone else!

BUT ... in 9 years it sounds like Thretfold hasn't done anything to improve their product. After 9 years, they are still manufacturing toilets that won't hold water!

The original poster on this thread was back in 2014 but the subject is still alive a going strong. I've got a 2013 Monte with the original toilet in it and it's still doing good. Every so often we will get the water to leak out but I've found three things to do to take care of it. 1. Find yourself a round or ball shaped toilet bowl brush and use it instead of the smaller kind of figure 8 brushes. Flush the toilet and while it is running water down the pipe take the ball shaped brush and run it up and down into the bowl hole. Then take it and spin it so the bristles get under the gasket to clean it out. It's surprising how much STUFF will come out of there. 2. After that I take an OLD toothbrush and run it around the gasket and over the edge of the flapper ball. 3. Following that procedure I take some plumbers grease (available in most hardware stores) and put it on the toothbrush bristles and run it around the gasket and over the flapper ball and it's edges. Just make sure you have a good hold on that toothbrush whenever using it. You don't want to loose it down the pipe and into the black tank. That could cause some real problems getting it out if it does drop into tank. Oh, also always keep some water or rv antifreeze (when winterized) in the bowl so the seal/gasket does not dry out.

Good advice Rondo. You can also buy a bottle of Thetford Toilet seal lube and conditioner...https://www.amazon.com/Thetford-Toil...56&sr=8-5&th=1

and/or use plumber's grease...https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Both worked well for my Thetford until I changed it out for a Dometic 320 last month.
