Also, FYI. Use shark bite connectors. They are magic!!! I got a flexible toilet hose like for the house and used the shark bite to attach a coupler to the hose coming up out of the floor after I cut it off. I spent the extra few dollars and bought a tool to unhook the shark bite so if I ever need to remove it, it is easy.

You might want to add a shut-off valve with the sharkbite connectors. Probably want ever need to shut off the toilet in a hurry but is much quicker than running outside.

Just buy a contractor pack of valves and put a shutoff valve on every faucet.

Yep already thought of the shut off valve. I rebuilt my sticks and bricks water system with a header for both hot and cold so I could shut off sections or each location as needed.....

Not the 'pedestal' the pedal. The only thing keeping the pedal on is the return spring behind the pedal, and even if you can replace the pedal with a new one, it likely will not stay for very long.

CW had the 320 on sale for $180 when my 5er was 3 months old. Done and happy. The Thetford was already no holding water.

Thetford Aqua-Magic Style Plus Hi purchased at local RV dealer. I do a lot of business with this local dealer and they take care of me on prices. Saved $42.20. Installed it myself.

That’s the junk toilet that is installed in the Montana’s that everyone is replacing with the Dometic 310 or 320 toilets. We just got beyond the one year warranty on our rig when the Thetford toilet went bad. I was unable to get a new pedal assembly to stay on it due to the way they are installed using the return spring attached to a flimsy plastic tab behind the pedal to keep the pedal on. Threw the whole toilet out and installed a Dometic, and that’s been almost five years ago with no trouble.

For rohrmann - it is true that the OEM toilet was a Thetford but the Aqua-Magic Style Plus is a huge upgrade from that one. I upgraded because, like your's, the flush lever started jumping off the side of the OEM toilet. Before purchasing the Aqua-Magic Style Plus I examined the mechanics of the flush mechanism to be sure it was not going to do the same thing. Been using it for 3 years (200+ days) now with no problems.

Ok, I'm reading all these posts on toilets being replaced with a Dometic 320, due to Thetford failure rate (OEM's in the new RV's).
I wasn't aware about Thetford toilet problems.
My question to any of you out there, we still have a TT Cougar which came with a Dometic 310 toilet. Is this still a good reliable toilet? It is ceramic. I just don't want to have any issues with water damage related to toilet failures.

I know it's said 'If it ain't broke don't fix it' but that doesn't apply to the junky toilet from the factory. If it ain't broke it will be and you might not like the results. My wife doesn't understand how I can replace something that isn't broken but this forum has taught me 'At a small fee of course' or should I say large fee about being pro active about the rv. This is kind of like the breaker for the hydraulics that I replaced with the 80 amp. I don't want to wait till I am in a bind then say I think I read something about that on the forum.Rv'ers beware, replace that toilet no matter how new it is. The damage can be many times the cost of a new toilet.

OB-1 I can't speak to the Dometic 320. The Aqua-Magic Style Plus is a ceramic toilet. My view - if what you have is working to your satisfaction, stick with it.

Well, after reading this I am convinced I want to switch to the 320 sooner than later. I take it a new seal on the floor is needed but how about the deck flange? Will the existing one work? Also, when it comes to the hand sprayer does it come with a holder to mount on the wall?

We have the Dometic 320 and really like it although lately the water pressure during flush has been very low and volume of water is also not as much as it was. Does anyone have any idea what would be the cause of this? Is the a restriction valve?

It comes with a new seal for the floor! You don't need to change the flange ether as far as the sprayer go We did not get it the shower is right there and works fine.

Ditto and the shower head doubles as a bidet.
