We had the very same problem. It is the gasket that goes between the bowl and the ball. Our 3400RL is a little over a year old. I could not get the leak problem figured out, so I called the Sea/Land company and talked with a very informative rep. She said "those seals are no good at all, we sent quite a bunch of them go out before we found out they were bad". She took my name and address. The next day I received a new seal and detailed instructions as to how to replace it. With Julie reading the directions (real men don't do that) I had the toilet working just fine with no drips at all in a few minutes. Good luck

Whatever you use drill a hole in it and attach a long string to it. Don't ask how I know this.

You might try this, it worked for us. Fully open the valve holding your foot on the pedal, let your foot slip off so that the valve snaps closed. Do this a couple of times. Hope it works for you.

Our dealer told us to do as you suggest with your foot and it works everytime. We have been doing this for about 2 years now. Works like a charm.

None of this would have worked for us. The seal had a cut in it. Service manager said they probably cut it while testing the black tank. Dang, made me wonder what they use. I like the tip about tying the long string on the brush. I was thinking about where that brush would end up one day when using it.
