I want to purchase a dash cam. What brands and models are recommended by you forum folks?

Garmin is nice and indicates your speed and location.

I bought mine from Black Box My Car. Here a link to their Dash Cam info page. If you're new to dash cams this page will give you some good info.

I've had a few. I'm currently using a Garmin 57. I'm very happy with it. I run a Garmin RV890 GPS unit so I already had the needed app on my phone. It captures crystal clear video. It's capable of voice activation so I'm constantly telling it to take pictures as we see beautiful scenery along our journey. I can definitely recommend this unit.
