Hydraulic Pump Not Working

My hydraulic pump is not working on my 2019 3121RL. Had the wife press the front jack button and could hear the solenoid pickup. I'm getting voltage to the two pump motor terminals with the button depressed (0 volts after she releases the button). Pulled one of the two cables going to the pump motor and reading an open circuit across the two motor terminals, so looks like the motor is shot. But my question to you folks, is there a thermal reset button on the pump motor? If there is and it has tripped open, I would also read an open circuit across the two motor terminals. And while I'm here, has anyone out there replaced their pump motor? If so, where did you order it from?

Thanks in advance

I assume the slides don't work either. Not being an electrical expert I assume your diagnosis is correct and the motor is shot.

You can order a new motor from Lippert (~ $1,000), Amazon (same motor for ~ $700) or try what Bob Rohrmann did and have it re-built. He describes his experience in this Thread:

Measuring an open across the motor terminals sure sounds like a bad motor. A final check before buying a new one would be to use jumper cables direct from the battery to the motor terminals.

I once had an in-tank fuel pump motor with a dead spot. Would not run. Pulled it out and jumpered to battery and it ran. Reinstalled and would not run. Measured good voltage at pump terminals. Pulled it out, jumpered to battery and it ran. While mulling over the problem tried the jumper again and it ran. Not making sense. Tried the jumper again and it did NOT run. Accidentally dropped it. Tried again and it ran. Two more tries and it ran. Third try it did not run. Ahh ha moment. Dead spot.

You can manually run your slides in and out.

Download the Lippert NOW app from Google play store. Lots of good info, manuals, TSB, troubleshooting etc.
Lippert also has excellent help desk support.
Phone: 574-537-8900
Email: customerservice@Lci1.com

Here's a link to the slides manual. It has the procedure to operate the hydraulic system manually.
https://support.lci1.com/through-fra...system#Manuals

You can also find YouTube videos showing how to do this.

Just as an update, the rebuilt hydraulic pump motor is still working like new, so getting one rebuilt is the way to go, unless you want to spend over $1200 for a new one, which right now is out of stock at Lippert.

Thanks to all that responded. I pulled the motor off to see if there was a number on the back side, which there was. When I pulled the motor, the end cap that mates to the pump opened up and you could smell that it had burnt. But just to make 100% sure, I connected the two terminal lugs to a car batter via jumper cables. It did nothing. I found a motor on Amazon (not sure how long it would take to find a shop that would rewind that small of a motor and how long it would take (we are supposed to be camping as I type). The motor was $395: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1.

Also tested the reversing solenoid per Lippert test procedure and it tested ok. I will download the Lippert app. Easier that trying to keep a notebook with hard copies.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond.

Be careful buying a used motor on Amazon. I tried that and it was broken, basically junk and had to return it. It could be the same one I got and returned.

Hopefully will know in a few days, but it is listed as new as far as I can tell.

If you can get a couple of M5X0.8 nuts, you can keep the failed motor together and if the one you ordered doesn't work, the motor can still be rewound and fixed.

I've still got the old motor and will go that route if needed. May do that just to have a spare.

Happy to report new motor from Amazon installed and working as expected. Looks like the same exact motor that came on the Monty.
