well thanks for that DutchmenSport! I guess I need to turn in my "engineer" hat for not trying that out. They sure are bright!

I have the light but the awning is so darn high I can’t install it in the track without a ladder. SMDH

Some years ago, I decided the little light next to the door was about worthless. I found an LED light strip package that produces multiple colors and variable brightness and is controlled with a little remote control. I stuck the LED strip on the wall just below the awning, and wired the remote receiver into the oval light fixture. This works perfectly and works whether the awning is out or in. The inside switch turns it on and off and does not need the remote unless you want to change the color or brightness.
