In Command Lock Water Pump

We have a 2017 3790RD. When you hook up the In Command locks the controls for the slides which makes sense. Is their a way to make it lock out the water also so it is off? Yes we had an issue, don't ask. Just seems it would be a good feature.

My unit has a Pro Plus InCommand system. I don’t think the water pump is included in the “travel lock out” systems. If you have your owners manual - you might try a “reset” procedure. If that does not help you can call ASA Electronics 800-635-3135 and get technical support. You will need to look at the lower right hand corner of your InCommand panel and identify your system as “Pro” or “Pro Plus”. Here are a couple of screen shots from my owners manual.

I have a 2019 3791RD but do not have the In Command (Thankfully).
I do not think that is an option as many people stop for the night and remain hooked up. Plus, if you stop for a bathroom break, you need water to flush.

It is not hard to unlock, just have to push the unlock button. Even if you leave it connected over night, which is not a good idea, it doesn't lock until you hit the brakes.

Oh, so you can override the lock out? That would be ok I guess.
Why is it not a good idea to leave the truck connected over night?

I have the same year in-command system. I do not believe there is a way to include the water pump in "travel lock". Use a good check list prior to moving. If you stop for a break and use the water make sure everyone knows to double check the water pump is off.

I've had a kitchen faucet bump on; my water pump was off, but when I turned it on the faucet immediately started flowing.

My travel lock engages when the truck lights come on (not sure if it is the tail light or brake light feed that does it). Just unlocking the door on my truck (flashes the lights) sets the travel lock. We frequently stop for the night and leave the truck connected.

Much like Robert - I'm thankful that I don't have InCommand. Switches I can easily deal with. We always turn our water pump off and bleed off the pressure in the lines when closing up the fiver. I've read horror stories of folks leaving their pump on and developing a plumbing leak on a long road trip. Granted I am very sure that this is an exception instead of the rule for this to happen. For us, the old saying about an ounce of prevention being worth more than a pound of cure... It's just a thought anyway.

If by some weird chance something happens in the trailer that drains the batteries it can drain the truck battery dead at the same time.

Exactly what happened only the pump was on and drain stoppers closed. We never leave the pump on, but stuff happens.

That's strange. Mine won't send any charge to the trailer until I hit brakes with 7 pin connected for the computer to see it. Once the truck is off, the line is dead.
I learned that when I thought it wasn't charging my battery. Turns out pressing the brake engages the charge circuit.

That depends on the manufacturer of the truck. Ford's are disconnected when the truck key is OFF. No drain on the battery.
