Suspension upgrade

I know it's been talked about a lot but I wanted a fresh perspective on the subject. I'm considering upgrading the Monty's suspension (Cost effectively) I have limited funds to make this upgrade so I wont be replacing both axles and upgrading to disc brakes as much as I'd like to. Thanks for your input.

Minimum upgrade: wet bolt set with heavy duty shackles. Then ez flex equalizers. Some E-Z Flex kits come with wet bolts and HD shackles.

Disc brakes can be put on existing axles.

Not doing brake upgrade just now, only the suspension. I have road armor with wet bolts. Looking for suggestions.

Pretty much the only real upgrade from what you have is the IS (Independent Suspension). Not sure what pin box you have, but the MorRyde rubber pin box might be a good upgrade. https://www.morryde.com/products/rubber-pin-box/

Second the MORryde rubber pin box. Very pleased with mine.

The Road Armor suspension is already about as good as you can get before going with IS. What problems are you trying to correct with an upgrade?

Would Morryde X-Factor be considered an upgrade?
Based on the little bit of research i have done it would help spring brackets last longer in addition to the tight turn strength...right?

Actually, I have considered 3 of them on my rig. I haven't pulled that trigger yet, but based on what I have heard and read, they do help support the hangers and shackles.

I have the X factors and think they are a nice addition but I thought that the 22’s (original poster) had the spring hanger upgrade (gusset inserts) that beef them up. May not need them and may not be able to attach the top bracket with the gusset in the way, not sure.

Tony, not sure what you are wanting to accomplish - better ride, more robust? I know you aren’t wanting to go IS and disc brakes, but you should put that in the back of your mind for the future. Some have installed Sumo springs. I have no experience with that, but there have been good results reported. I broke springs twice on our 2010 Big Sky, once in Alaska (hence the IS). Thicker springs and X-Factor may make your suspension more robust. My personal opinion is that the MorRyde pin box will reduce feel in the cab but not what the Montana experiences. Also, my personal opinion is the MorRyde suspensions similar to the Road Armor are slightly better. Your needs will vary depending on where you camp. We do a lot of mountain camping across mountain roads. The IS is significantly better for this and Alaska. Of course, places like I10 and others aren’t much better and hitting it at a higher speed.

Thanks for all your input. What I'm trying to accomplish is a softer ride to prevent things from rattling apart. I'd like to reduce the rolling earthquake from a 5 to a 2. For every 100 miles that you roll something is working its way lose like a screw working its way through the linoleum, a staple coming through the roof TPO, a piece of trim, etc. I just thought a better suspension would help. certainly can't hurt. I can see a pin box helping with the back and forth motion and soften the front portion of the RV but what about from the axles back?

I would like to know what helps strengthen the basic system to prevent or reduce the incidence of broken springs and/or hanger brackets. I am ok with my current brakes. That is my first priority.
Adding disc brakes would be second.
IS system would be last priority or until my money tree produces so fruit.

X Factor helps with the spring hanger issues on our older than 2022 (trailers without the upgraded gussets)

Loved the air ride.....the price was though to swallow. It is also a fairly major mod for my old self. I'd have to pay out another grand or more for the labor I haven't done enough research to know what's out there. Thanks for your help!

I was looking at the install instruction and saw the suspension they were removing and thought that's what I'm looking for.

Ok that's what I'm looking for. I already have wet bolts but talk to me about the shocks please.
