What class is a Keystone Montana?

Trying to buy a replacement door lock and one says won't fit class A or C. What class is the keystone montana?

Welcome to the forum. Class A and C are motorhome designations so neither applies to a Montana. What year and model do you have? Montana's are considered a High Profile 5th Wheel.

I've never bought a replacement door lock but it should be fairly easy to search for the same style regardless of which trailer it goes on. They are typically fairly generic in application.

This one is pretty basic but could likely fit your application

Thumbs down

About five years ago our original door lock failed, and we had to travel about a hundred miles to the nearest RV dealer that had a replacement in stock. We ended up with a Trimark brand. This is similar. https://www.amazon.com/TriMark-60165...2-63e904010ad0

I would suggest not going cheap because you might get stuck trying to get the door open if the cheap one broke at the wrong time.

We have an 2019 3130re.
We bought an RVLock V4 with two remote fobs.
Easy to swap out.

They don't fit class A or C motorhomes because of a two pin safety latch safety feature that is required for motor vehicles.
Most trailers are the same but I admit there are exceptions.
I changed mine to RV Lock with touch pad and key fob. I like this very much and would recommend.
They have comparison photos to identify your lock.

Just to follow up on part of your original question…
Class A RVs are like a bus (gas or diesel)
Class B RVs are camper vans
Class C RVs are “cab-over” RVs.

We replaced our old lock set with a remote/Keyless system from Latch It. Ordered on Amazon and we love it. We were concerned when my wife confirmed the rumors that your RV door key will open many other campers as well. Many mfg. use same or similar lock sets and because of it, there is not much of a variation on keys.
She locked herself out of the camper while I was out fishing, found an old key (Not to this RV) in my truck and was able to open the RV. Not very secure!
This new lock set has key, key pad or Phob. Secure, easy and provides a peace of mind when I leave the Coach
Best of luck

Welcome to the forum!!

Go to a Montana dealer for a replacement or do an intenet search on "montana rv door locks". I did the latter when I replaced mine.

We used to think Montana was in a class by itself.

We bought the Latch-it for ours. We love it. We had a problem with the key fobs after about 6 months. We contacted Latch-It and they sent us two new ones. Service is great.

When our cheap OEM lock broke, we decided to go with a lock with a keypad (key for emergencies, like when the batteries die), and have never regretted it.

We installed this 3 years ago, and have been happy with it and the Global Products Group customer service. https://www.amazon.com/Creative-Prod.../dp/B082DXC8G7

They also have a bluetooth version of it https://cpgbrands.com/product/ultra-...-trailer-lock/
