Could a weak battery cause the creaking and grinding noise?

The issue with the "Buzzing sound" you are hearing is either Low voltage to the system and/or an old OEM 50 amp resettable breaker being still installed on the cable that powers the dual polarity solenoid.. noise is the dual polarity solenoid....

My corrective actions would be:
1. Status of the battery
2. Verify Converter output on shore power 13.4 to 13.8 volts DC
3. Remove the battery cable connections and clean and reinstall
4. Also remove the battery cable to frame ground end and clean the frame to bare shiny metal and reinstall
5. Replace the 50 amp resettable breaker to dual polarity solenoid with an 80 amp ( if you have not already done so previously)

This should take care of your issues

I already have an 80 amp breaker. Checked the battery and indeed, it needs to be replaced. I ordered a Weize 12V 100 amp Deep Cycle AGM SLA VGRA battery from Amazon. It gets good reviews and should suit our needs. We don't do a lot of boondocking.
