Road Armor Grease Fittings
Wondering if anyone has run into this issue and what they did to resolve it. We have Road Armor Trailair on our 2021 Montana 3121RL and I went to do the annual maintenance by adding grease to the fittings. There are 5 fittings on each side. One side had no issues and grease was added easily. On the other side I was able to grease 3 of the 5 fittings. Two wouldn't accept any. I removed the two fittings and grease flowed through them easily so they weren't the problem. I removed some grease from one of the wet bolts and reinstalled the fittings but it didn't help - no grease will go into the bolt. Anyone run into this issue and if so, what did you do to resolve it.

I used a tool called a zerk zapper or something like that.
I don't remember the exact name as I have had it for years. Should be able to get them on Amazon.

Make sure the bolt grease hole is installed at 3 o'clock or 9 o'clock position. Sometimes you need to take the weight off the wheel/leaf springs (jack the frame).
I had one that wouldn't take grease. I backed the nut off until it was flush with the threads (protects the threads). Then tap the nut with a hammer and pump the grease. Worked for me.

Once you do get grease to flow, you might be better off following Dexter’s recommendation to lube the zerk fittings on the suspension every three months or 3,000 miles. Once a year might allow the grease to harden between lubrication. I’ve had occasion to have to remove the wet bolts that wouldn’t take grease, clean out the grease passage, and reinstall the bolts with the grease port installed at either the 9 o’clock or 3 o’clock position.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I raised the side and was able to get grease into one of the two fittings. Then I raised the back a bit (love the Level Up system!) and forced some grease into the fitting, then it flowed easily. I really appreciate the suggestions and will probably grease them more often (it's our first year with the new rig) and hopefully the grease will simply flow now. I will also have to check the orientation of the hole to see if it's at the 3/9 o'clock position or close to it. But I'll do that in the spring when it's warmer than the 28 degrees this morning.

Seized grease nipples
Hello all,
I seem to have the same problem on my 2020 3120RL. I have about 5 suspension grease nipples that do not take any grease. I like the idea of jacking up the frame to take pressure off the suspension, what I do not fully understand the comment "make sure the grease hole is at 30 or 90 degrees". Do I loosen the nut and try to turn the bushing? Seems like this is a common problem. Thanks in advance for any comments to help!

If the hole in the wet bolt is not alligned horizontally (at 3 or 9 O'Clock), the weight of the trailer could block the hole and make it difficult or impossible to force grease through the wet bolt.
In order to make sure they are properly alligned you will need to remove the wet bolt and look at the hole in the center of the bolt. The bolt itself has a knurling that prevents it from easily turning, so you could loosen the nut, push the bolt out about a half inch, then turn the bolt to align it. Problem is, you can't see where the hole is without pulling the bolt out.
More than half of mine were put in vertically and even jacking up the rig and tapping on the springs did not help to get grease in them.

Also as Bob said, there could be dried and hardened grease blocking the hole, so you will need to use a small wire or paper clip to clean that out. I remember someone posting they used a tiny drill bit turned by hand (not in a drill) to clean the hole out. Just soaking in PB Blaster worked for me. I was then able to blow it out with air. Replaced all of the zerks with 90 degree ones to make it easier to get the grease gun on them without pulling the tires.

I'm dealing with this exact issue right now. I believe they are covered under the suspension warranty. Mine goes in next week for repair. I bought the extended warranty.

I purchased an extended warranty also. I've never tried getting the dealer to "fix" it, but my guess would be that they would require me to pay for greasing the suspension anyway, as general maintenance isn't cover on my extended warranty.
Now if a wet bolt was broken or bushing worn out, I would expect that to be covered.

Just had this problem. Two of the spring hanger wetbolts wouldn't take grease even after taking the pressure off the suspension. One wetbolt needed to be removed, cleaned and reinstalled. I was able to clean out the other one in position using a Lock n Lube Grease Buster. Worked like a charm.
