Drilling exterior holes on camper
I would like to install a solar motion detector lights above the door and four more on the camper corners. How does one safely and correctly drill mounting holes into the camper sides without splintering, cracking or ruining the camper sides?

Can't answer your drilling questions, but I changed my porch light and am going to change my scare lights to LED motion detector lights. The porch light was easy and the scare lights should be no big deal either. Here's what I'm talking about : https://www.amazon.com/Starlights-SL...v+motion+light and https://www.amazon.com/Starlights-SL...RB5JXNT6X02864 They also make them in black.

If I were wanting to mount something like that, and assuming it wasn't excessively heavy, I would use 3M mounting tape. That way, it could be removed without having to deal with a hole to have to fill in. http://www.autogeek.net/3m-auto-tape.html

I used a small drill bit to just get thru the exterior wall and then an 1 7/8" hole saw to install and exterior electrical outlet....had no problems. For smll holes to mount lights.....used a very small drill bit.

Use a split point drill if you can find one. They require much less pushing ptessure. Spin the drill as fast as possible with light pressure. Go slow.

I have drilled in the sides when mounting window awnings with no issues and no special drill bits be sure to add a dab of Silicone to the screw for a weather proff seal!

Or you could purchase some high grade suction cups to mount them, they had a booth at the Tampa RV show and they can hold over 100lbs. Quite impressive and no need for holes.... various sizes available. I am going to order a couple one to mount a TV outside when parked and one for a solar motion light when parked and one to hold the Winegard WiFi antenna which we purchased at the Tampa RV show.

There is no problem drilling a hole in the exterior wall of the rv. make sure your bits are sharp. take it slow but a fast drill speed.
