Bathroom sky light
Wife wants to know if there is a 'shade' that can be attached to our sky light in the shower that reduces heat.

Bath skylight
We never found one. We ended up using a window film we found on Amazon. I removed the interior cover and installed it on the top side of the interior piece. Works great. Different types light to dark variety of looks to pick from. We chose lemon cloud 3D no glue static decorative window film for glass. Nice vinyl product used water spray . Easy no wrinkles trimmed to fit. Reinstalled took about 20 minutes.

We used a window film that looks like stained glass. If you don't care about the light, cut to fit and put some of the bubble wrap silver film in there.

I can't find the shade I had on my old rig. It was a retractable shade that attached to the inside of the skylight. I found a Camco retractable shade on the net for $11. Mine looked bigger and stronger and cost around $45 11-12 years ago. It was from a company in Colorado if you can find it.
I had no problem with moisture or mold.

Skyline shade
I had reflective sun shade I used on my previous RV door and velcroed it to cover up the skylight when we want it covered up.

Look up "Artscapes" .com...... They have a large selection to choose from. We chose the "City Lights" image for our bathroom skylight. It DID cut down on the heat penetration by about 40% Im guessing. Also lets enough light in to still see clearly. We bought our at Home Depot.

I took out the inset part of the sky light. I then taped 2 layers of small bubble wrap on top of the inset and then reinstalled it. Works like a champ. We get a good amount of light with no heat issues.

Reflectix ( https://www.homedepot.com/b/Reflectix/N-5yc1vZ19n) has worked nicely for 4 years on ours. You can also cut it to fit on sun facing windows as well. I found a 20* surface difference, measured with my Harbor Freight laser gadget without then with it on a window

Remember, if you put a shade or tint on the inside, the heat still gets in the outer lens and gets in the ceiling which heats up the camper. I've found a way to stop it. I washed and dried the outer lens on the roof, taped it off and painted the lens with 3 light coats of Gloss White Krylon spray paint. No heat gets in and yet lets a lot of light in.

Our unit has a pleated cover on the kitchen sky light. I wonder if something like that would do the trick? Might even be the same size? Only issue may be the moisture in the shower.

Now that I think about it. The bathroom is the one place I WANT to stay a little warm......I hate jumping out of the shower into a cold bathroom. In fact the one AC vent with duct tape over it in our camper is you guessed it the one in the bathroom. So let the sunshine in!

We removed the inner lens and put a piece of tan bedsheet in between the inner and outer lens. Lets in lots of light, but blocks some of the heat.
